An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
